The Tales Of Way Kambas

This is the story of our journey in the Ecoprint training activities with the community of the village supporting the Waykambas National Park, (Dusun Margahayu)

On the first day, the Arae team, together with several village officials, KTH chairman, and Pak Muhamad Hanif as the Executive Director of IRI (Initiative Rhinos Indonesia), explored the typical leaves that grow in the Waykambas National Park area.

By the way, we don’t just take the leaves just like that, OK? The leaves that we took already have permission, and the best leaves were chosen by Masrur as the tutor and the Research team from Arae

So.. don’t worry, we are taking the leaves without destroying nature, and on purpose we are really collaborating with Mr. Sunandar as a village official in Margahayu Hamlet to collect the leaves as well as educate us about the use of leaves.

Apparently, Mr. Muhamad Hanif asked the village community and KTH to maintain plants that are usually consumed by rhinos and elephants.

Almost every yard of the house is planted with plants for rhino and elephant food, so it is very abundant.

What’s more, in the middle of the Waykambas National Park forest there is an area that is being repaired, where the area is being designated as a bridge for rhino feed

This program was initiated by IRI (Initiative Rhinos Indonesia)

The next day, which coincided with World Rhino Day (22 September), an Ecoprint training was held in Margahayu Hamlet.

This Ecoprint training aims to improve the welfare of the buffer village community, in line with the Motto of KTH Margahayu Hamlet “Prosperous community, sustainable forest”

Hopefully this extraordinary collaboration can inspire Friends of Arae to continue to consistently protect nature and the environment
